Beginner White Water So you?ve been kayaking on the flat water and you have mastered your 2 star skills, its time to take your kayaking on to the white water. With an expert coach along side, you can begin your journey, learning and applying new skills. Here we will look at key concepts, core to all white water paddling, giving you the best foundation to build from.
COURSE AIMS
Safe introduction to the white water environment. Introduce models for reading and understand white water hydrology Identifying & understanding hazards. Building on individual skills and experiences to learn key white water skills including: Breaking In/Out, Ferry Gliding, Dynamic Balance and Posture, keeping Safe.
THE VENUE
We use a variety of venues around the UK picked for their suitability for this type of course. Please note venues may change from one date to another so please check you are heading to the correct location.
FOOD AND DRINK
For full day courses please bring your own packed lunch and a hot drink. Not all our venues have facilities on site.
WHO RUNS THE COURSE?
We use a variety of qualified and experienced coaches and guides to run our courses and trips. All are trained, qualified and experienced in the type of canoeing or kayaking offered and are also first aid qualified. We may also have trainee instructors working on our courses with us to gain valuable experience.

1 instructor/guide to max 4 participants for this course.
TRASNPORT
You are responsible for getting yourself to and from the venue. We may be able to assist in organizing shared lifts etc.
COST
Cost is shown below. Costs vary depending on the duration of the course. If you need to hire equipment from us the hire fees are shown separately. If you are using your own equipment you pay only the course fee.
TIMINGS
Times shown are the planned start and finish times. Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time. You should be finished and ready to leave at the finish times shown but please remember that many things beyond our control can alter these.
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED
Transport to and/or from the venue
Personal Activity Insurance cover - We strongly recommend that you take out your own policy for activity insurance.
The cost of any BCU certificates/awards.
EQUIPMENT
Equipment can be hired from us at the following rates. £5 for a half day or £10 for a full day. This includes, Boat, paddle, Buoyancy, Aid, Helmet, Spray Deck and Spray Cag.
HOW TO BOOK
You can book now with our on line booking form. Once we have received your booking form you will b e contacted and asked for payment card details or you can send a cheque for payment.
Payment is required in full in advance for all courses. It is not possible to accept payment on the day and your place will nit be confirmed until payment has been made.
